Promedon Argentina continues incorporating new solutions from its partner Zimmer to expand the product portfolio, offering new and improved alternatives:

Zimmer M/L Taper:In order to complement the range of solutions for uncemented primary hip arthroplasty, in the following weeks the Zimmer® M/L hip prosthesis will be available in Argentina. This product is a simple alternative for patients with adequate bone stock. Its design enhances the clinically-approved tapered fixation philosophy, providing safe medial-lateral stability. The thin anteroposterior section ensures maximum bone conservation, providing also great torsional stability. The Tivanium® Ti-6Al-4V alloy provides excellent bio-compatibility and resistance, without excessive rigidity. The superficial plasma-spray treatment in the metaphyseal section simplifies mechanical fixation and offers a safe bone and implant interface.

Trabecular Metal Acetabular System: The Trabecular metal material has a substantially higher friction coefficient in the cancellous bone than any other available material. This feature enables quick bone integration to increase the initial stability at implantation. The Trabecular metal is a product made from tantalum, one of the most inert metal bio-materials available. As a material, the Trabecular has a cellular structure and properties that are remarkably similar to those of the cancellous bone. Its tridimensional architecture provides a high-friction bone-implant interface and an excellent initial stability. In addition, the pore interconnection allows rapid and widespread bone formation, and an inner growth that ensures an excellent fixation in the long-run. This product, that will complement our portfolio for hip revisions, is already marketed by Promedon Chile and will be available in Argentina in the following weeks.

ZUK Unicompartimental Knee High Flex: This product was released in Promedon Argentina at the end of 2010 and is designed to provide an early intervention option for patients suffering from unresolved lateral or medial compartment arthritis. Based on the successful design of the M/G Unicompartimental system, the new system combines implant and instrument innovation with proven design concepts to create a knee system that is ideal for the current active population.
